Victims’ Commissioner speaks at the CPS Advocacy conference

Victims’ Commissioner, Baroness Newlove, attended the Crown Prosecution Service’s (CPS) Advocacy Conference in London today.

Speaking to a room full of CPS Advocates who work in Magistrates’ and Youth Courts and Crown Court, Baroness Newlove took the opportunity to raise awareness to the needs of vulnerable victims and asked the audience to be mindful of the needs of victims.

Baroness Newlove said:

“I want everyone to recognise the human dimension to supporting victims. These are people whose lives have been damaged and, in the most serious cases, shattered by crime. As such they deserve to be treated at all times with decency and sensitivity.”
