We consult agencies listed in the Victims’ Code, as well as other service providers. Most importantly, we ask victims and witnesses how they feel about the support that’s available for them.
The Commissioner uses these reviews to:
- highlight what is and what isn’t working
- recommend positive changes to victims’ services.
We are currently working on a review of anti-social behaviour, due to be published in spring 2019. Later this year, we are planning a review on bereaved victims of people murdered abroad.
If we are committed to changing the victim experience, we need to look at the architecture of victim services… I want to see victims provided with a seamless journey through the criminal justice system.VICTIMS’ COMMISSIONER, BARONESS NEWLOVE
