NHS London and the Mayor's Office for Police and Crime (MOPAC) have responded positively to a letter from the Children's Commissioner and the Victims' Commissioner requesting further funding for The Lighthouse, a pioneering centre for child victims of sexual abuse.
Earlier this month the Children’s Commissioner, Anne Longfield OBE, and the Victims’ Commissioner, Dame Vera Baird QC, wrote to NHS London, the Mayor’s Office for Police and Crime and the Home Office to ask that The Lighthouse – a pioneering centre for child victims of sexual abuse – receive additional funding to allow the programme to run a full three year evaluation of their work. Their letter can be found here: Lighthouse funding letter
We have now heard back from NHS London and MOPAC who have indicated that they will fund The Lighthouse until September 2021. This is excellent news.
