Victims’ Commissioner Launches First Newsletter

Today, the Victims’ Commissioner Baroness Newlove welcomes the first edition of her revamped digital newsletter VC News which promotes the issues she champions on behalf of victims.

VC News is aimed at victims, practitioners and agencies that support victims and witnesses. It will cover the priority issues that concern the Commissioner as well as shine a light on good practice.

Baroness Newlove said: “I’m really pleased about the launch of our newsletter covering topical issues, news and views with an exciting, fresh design. Check it out, let us know what you think and get involved. We’re on the hunt to cover what’s happening on the ground that we can share with others. So if you’re doing pioneering new work to support victims and witnesses, get in touch.”

  • To kick off our launch issue, Baroness Newlove explains why she’s calling for a Victims’ Law.
  • In Breaking the Taboo, we talk to charity founder, Jasvinder Sanghera who fled a forced teenage marriage and devoted her life to campaigning against honour-based abuse.
  • While in Talking Stalking, CEO of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, Rachel Griffin tackles the vile crime that impacts more than one million victims every year.
