Dame Vera Baird to end term as Victims’ Commissioner on 30 September

The Victims’ Commissioner, Dame Vera Baird KC, wrote to the Justice Secretary on Friday 23 September to inform him of her intention to end her term as Commissioner on Friday 30 September 2022.
Dame Vera is not seeking any further extension of her term.
The role of Victims’ Commissioner is currently subject to an open recruitment process and Dame Vera Baird will not be an applicant.
